Fill in Google Play Data safety and App Privacy with the AppFoyer side panel
Install the free AppFoyer Chrome extension, let it follow the console page you are on, connect your account if you want your own answers beside each question, and import your Data safety answers as a CSV.
Install the free AppFoyer extension for Chrome and open its side panel next to Play Console or App Store Connect. It walks through Play's Data safety questions and Apple's App Privacy steps in each store's own words. Connect an AppFoyer account to see your app's answers beside them, then enter them in the console yourself.
Do this in a few minutes instead
AppFoyer hosts the pages this guide is about — privacy policy, terms, support, account
deletion and app-ads.txt — on their own
subdomain, with no domain or server of your own. One app is free, and nothing a store
requires is ever behind a paywall.
Checked 17 October 2026. Store policies change, sometimes without notice. Everything below links to the official documentation, and that page — not this one — is the authority. If the two disagree, the store is right.
The AppFoyer side panel sits next to Google Play Console and App Store Connect and shows what the page you are on asks for, question by question. You fill in the console; the panel never does. It is a free Chrome extension, it works without an account, and connecting an AppFoyer account adds your own app’s answers beside each question.
The panel quotes each store’s own help pages and links them, with the date we read them. If the console disagrees with the panel, the console is right.
Install it
- Open the extension’s page and choose Add to Chrome. Installing it asks for access to no website.
- Pin it from Chrome’s extensions menu (the puzzle-piece icon), then click its toolbar button. The panel opens beside the page.
- Pick the store and the section in the panel, or let it follow you (next step).
Let the panel follow the console (optional)
Click Follow my page. Chrome asks whether the extension may access play.google.com/console and
appstoreconnect.apple.com. If you allow it, the panel opens the matching section whenever you move
to another console page.
It reads only the address of a Play Console or App Store Connect tab: never the page itself, and nothing on any other site. Stop following removes the permission again. What the extension keeps and sends is set out in its privacy notice.
Connect AppFoyer (optional)
Without a connection the panel shows the questions and what they mean, and the answer fields stay empty. If your app’s pages are hosted on AppFoyer, click Connect AppFoyer: a Chrome window opens on AppFoyer, you sign in and approve, and the panel shows your app’s own values and answers to copy.
- The connection is read-only. The extension cannot change anything in your AppFoyer account, and it is listed with your other connections on the dashboard’s Agent page, where you can disconnect it.
- One app for that store on your account is selected for you. With several, pick one from the list; while Follow my page is on, the panel remembers your choice for that console app.
- A URL whose page is not published yet is marked as not live. Publish before you submit: a reviewer who opens a privacy policy URL that does not load rejects the submission.
No AppFoyer account yet? The card at the top of the panel shows the two ways in: the Claude Code plugin, or a short form on the web.
Google Play: Data safety
Open Play Console → your app → App content → Data safety. The panel lists Play’s questions in Play’s order, with what each one means and the purposes as Google defines them.
The fastest route is Play’s own CSV import (Google Play’s Data safety help describes it):
- On the AppFoyer dashboard, open your app’s Store forms tab and click Download CSV.
- In Play Console, on the Data safety page, choose Import from CSV and pick the file.
- Check every answer before you save, above all the ones the Store forms tab lists as pre-filled: Play will not import the file without them, and only you know the true answer.
Importing replaces every answer already in the form. Without a connection, the panel still walks you through each question; the answers come from you.
Apple: App Privacy
Open App Store Connect → your app → App Privacy. The panel shows the data types, what “linked to the user” and “used for tracking” mean, and the purposes as Apple defines them. Connected, it shows your app’s answers for each data type. We know of no file import for App Privacy, so you enter each answer in App Store Connect yourself.
Where the answers come from
Connected answers are the same draft as the dashboard’s Store forms tab: built from what you ticked under What the app collects in Settings and from the SDK list on that tab. If an answer is wrong, fix it there; the panel cannot edit anything. An SDK that is not on the list is not covered.
What the panel cannot do
- It does not fill in, click or submit anything in a console, and it does not read console pages.
- It cannot see your build. It knows your SDKs only from the list on the Store forms tab.
- It is not legal advice. You are responsible for what you declare to a store.
